Dr. Jenny Son, MS, DDS

Dr. Son has a Bachelor's degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from UCLA. She then received her dental degree from the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC in 2010 and a Certificate in Prosthodontics in 2013. Dr. Son is the course director on CAD/CAM Implant Dentistry for the USC Advanced Program in Advanced Operative and Adhesive Dentistry and she also teaches CAD/CAM and Implants for DDS and Advanced Prosthodontics students.

Presentation Title: How technology has changed the restorative workflow

CAD/CAM and digital technologies are on the forefront in restorative and surgical aspects of dentistry, and the constantly evolving dental materials and methods of manufacturing present numerous pathways from treatment planning to achieving optimal outcome.

Learning objectives:

  • This presentation will discuss both conventional and digital methods from planning to delivery, and how the labs or in-office manufacturing can be implemented to enrich the dental practice by gaining knowledge on indications, limitations, relevant new techniques and technologies.

Hands-On Workshop: Opportunities in CAD/CAM chairside restoration

Chairside CAD/CAM technology has offered a convenient and efficient workflow as an alternative to traditional techniques involving model making. The participants will learn practical information on how to fabricate implant supported restorations utilizing the Sirona CEREC system and gain skills on scanning, restoration designing, milling, and finishing.
